"Worship In The Park"
Celebrating The Holly Presbyterian Church’s 156th Birthday
Sunday, July 12, 2015

The Holly Presbyterian Church’s congregation gathered to celebrate its 156th birthday at Lakeside Park in Holly on Sunday, July 12th, with its annual “Worship in the Park” service and picnic.  The temperature was cool with a general threat of rain, but as the service began the skies cleared and it turned into a beautiful summer's day.

Rev. Dr. Sharlyn DeHaven Gates conducted the worship service, assisted by Associate Pastor Shaun Hardimon and Elder Jim Lyles. Rev. Gates’ sermon was entitled “The Beginning of Wisdom,” and was based on Proverbs 1:1-7 and 3:1-8.

After the service, everyone enjoyed a potluck picnic with hot dogs, water and lemonade provided by the Fellowship Team and the usual wealth of dishes brought by members of the congregation. Everyone had a wonderful time of fellowship.
