"Worship In The Park” Sunday,
Celebrating 161 Years of
Faithful Service to Jesus Christ.
Sunday, July 12, 2020

The Holly Presbyterian Church’s congregation gathered to celebrate our 161st birthday (1859 - 2020) at Lakeside Park in Holly on Sunday, July 12th, with its annual “Worship in the Park” service.  Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this was the first worship service held since all services were suspended in March 2020, and due to the circumstances, there were many differences from previous services:

  • Masks were required.
  • We used a larger pavilion this year to help facilitate social distancing, with seating at least six feet apart between each household group.
  • There was no singing during worship service, as singing greatly increases the chances of spreading the virus if someone was infected and didn't know it. Allison Muenzer read the hymns as poetry.
  • Everyone was asked to bring their own lawn chairs.
  • We did not have a potluck and asked that if people wished to have a meal after the service, that they then bring their own lunch and beverage.

Rev. Tim Terpening conducted the worship service and Allison Muenzer did the readings.
