Welcome to Holly Presbyterian Church!
A member of Lake Huron Presbytery,
Presbyterian Church (USA
)

We are a joyful family of faith
that nurtures knowing, growing, sharing, and serving as followers of Christ
within our church, our community, and around the world through peaceful and loving relationships.

Whether you're a visitor or member, this Website is dedicated to serving as a source of congregational information and, maybe, even inspiration.  Start your visit by reading the news below, or by clicking the links on the left.  You will find a virtual sketch of the people and life of Holly Presbyterian Church, which will give you a sense of who we are and the journey of faith we are now on.

If you have feed-back for us, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Outreach Team chairperson Donna DeNise, or our Website manager, Walter Brown.

Important Worship Service Schedule Changes:

During May, we will continue to hold our Worship Services in the church parking lot,
but will start worship at 10:00 a.m. rather than 2:00 p.m.
We will also begin having a worship service every Sunday rather than every other Sunday.

We will have guest preachers and use a short-range FM radio transmitter (87.9)
to send their words directly to the radios in our cars, where we can be comfortable and safe
while participating in the services. A speaker system will also be set up for those who prefer to listen from outside their cars.

Communion will be serviced during Worship on the 1st Sunday of the month.

The congregation can bring their own bread and juice or use a small cup with juice and a wafer that the church will  provide.

After the worship services, members can have fellowship with other members,
but masks and social distancing requirements will be strictly enforced if anyone leaves their car.

Important Special Announcements
Here are important Special Announcements that have been approved by the Session and that you will want to make note of and add to your calendar.

Worship Service Schedule Change
In May we will continue to meet in the parking lot, but we will start our worship service at 10 a.m. and will meet each Sunday.

Pastor Candidate To Preach Sunday, June 27
Our candidate for our next pastor will preach Sunday, June 27.  Immediately following the Worship Service, we will hold a Special Congregational meeting to vote on whether to call this new pastor and to approve the terms of call.

Opening Church Building For Worship Services
Starting in the month of June, we plan to return to holding worship services in the church’s Sanctuary.  Please note:

  • This date could change if Session determines that it is still not safe to gather inside.
  • All worship participants will wear masks (except for the preacher while preaching).
  • We will have the Sanctuary windows open and will be blowing air out of them with fans.  We’ll prop the entrance doors open and use other fans to draw air in through those doors and blow it into the Sanctuary.  So, if it is cold outside please dress warmly.
  • We will block off every other pew, and have family groups separated to maintain physical distancing.
  • There will be no singing.
  • There will be no coffee hour before or after worship service.  It is our hope that you will be able to safely gather outside and talk with each other.
  • We will continue to celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of each month.  We’ll hand out bread and pre-packaged juice containers as you enter the Sanctuary, in much the same way as we have been doing it for the parking lot services.

Most of you have already gotten, or are scheduling, your COVID-19 vaccinations.  The Session wants to emphasize that this is the single most important thing you can do to help yourselves, your church, and your loved ones.  We understand that in a few rare cases, under doctor’s advice, some of you cannot receive vaccinations.  But that makes it all the more important for those of us who can. So please get vaccinated, if you can, as soon as possible.

If you have a prayer concern or are in need of a pastor …
If you have a prayer concern or are in need of a pastor, please contact the office at 248-634-9494 -- or email at office@hollypc.org -- during regular business hours.  The office is open Tuesday - Friday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., closed 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. for lunch. Prayers For Our Missionary Families
The Holly Presbyterian Church supports two missionary families as part of our ongoing outreach to the world: the Keefer family (serving Christ through their Athletes in Action ministry at U of M in Ann Arbor, Michigan) and the Iobst family (serving Christ through the Operation Transit ministry in Paris, France).  We are called to act as the hands and feet of Christ in our world, and because we cannot all serve in full time ministry, we offer our support financially, and spiritually, to those who do. Please pray for these families and consider sending them a note or e-mail of encouragement.
